Susan puts in a creditable performance on the A side of her debut single. I guess the theme is based on an updated 60s twist version of Kay Starr's 'Rock N Roll Waltz'.
Like on many of her singles, the B sides are always worh investigating, and this one is no exception; indeed this is one of my favourites of hers. It's a ballad with, as the title suggests, an Oriental feel. I thought it was a pity that it didn't get included on her 'Best Of' CD. Still, maybe it will appear on 'Best Of' Vol 2, if such a thing is ever made. Or why not have a 'Susan Maughan Box Set'; after all, she made so many great recordings.
