In all, its a fun album to rock out to, but it doesnt pack nearly as much of a punch as Slints later work would soon come to is the debut studio album by American rock band Slint. It was originally released on the label Jennifer Hartman Records in 1989 as the only record put out by the label, which was run by their friend and namesake, Jennifer Hartman. It is also the only Slint album to feature bassist Ethan Buckler. The album was reissued by Touch and Go Records in 1993 after the group's follow-up, Spiderland, began to generate a cult following. Tweez is a fine, if bizarre recording, often switching from bass-led rhythm to rhythm in the same song. The guitars are harsh, but not especially fast. Instead of singing, bits of dialogue, sound effects, and spoken lyrics are used. Listen free to Slint Tweez Ron, Nan Ding and more. 9 tracks 29:27. Tweez is the debut studio album by American rock band Slint. It was released on the group's self-owned label Jennifer Hartman Records in 1989. Tweez was recorded at Studiomedia in Evanston, Illinois, and was produced by Steve Albini. While I admit that Spiderland is a much more consistent and well composed then Tweez that doesnt mean that this is not an album worth your money. Slint created something new when they released Tweez and you cant really put it under any genre of music. It blends together punk, indie, math-rock, and even some minor post-rock elements make their way into the music. Slint basically combine scratchy guitars, thumping bass lines, and hard hitting drums. While Louisville quartet Slint are best known for their 1991 album Spiderland, which drastically influenced the landscape of post-rock and alternative music, their 1989 debut record Tweez unfortunately doesnt receive the same amount of attention. The albums is a loud, disorganized affair, dabbling more in riffage and noise-rock that the bands later output. A ferocious burst of energy, Tweez clocks in at less than 30 minutes, and was recorded with legendary producer Steve Albini at his studio in Evanston, IL. Tweez Q&A. Producer Steve Albini.
