Although this album didn't have the sheer fire power of their previous albums, it show the Chaka's voice and the production skills the group had developed. It is one my favorite Rufus recordings.

I really wanted to give this album a lower rating, but deep in my heart, I just couldn't do it. This is one of the few times that my heart outruled my honesty when it come to music. "Street Player" is no where near where Rufus was with their last 4 albums, but you can still find songs to love here. Songs like "Stay", "Best Of Your Heart" and the title track holds the album down firmly, even though it's not in the class of their classic stuff. I also blame this on the fact that Chaka Khan started a solo career (don't blame her though), and key players in the group changing. Oh, well, even though not complete, it's still ok.
