Antar is a composition for symphony orchestra in four movements by the Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. He wrote the piece in 1868 but revised it in 1875 and 1891. He initially called the work his Second Symphony. He later reconsidered and called it a symphonic suite. It : Igor Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov. His cadet applies himself studiously. After the death of Stravinsky s father in 1902, the Rimsky-Korsakov clan became a second family for young them he made many friends, and from 1905-8 studied orchestration with his master. Stravinsky conducts his Symphony and Scherzo Fantastique, coupled together for the first time in decades, in Praga remasters from early 1960s stereo. Rimsky-Korsakov managed to combine his busy job and creative work. His other great opera, written with diligence and love, was May Night. The composer was greatly inspired by the literary works of the Russian writer Gogol who is thought to be the founder of Russian realism, especially by the authors mythological characters and rich depictions of village life, with its old customs and fantastic and supernatural elements. The opera was first presented on 9 January 1880 at the Mariinsky Theater and was met with loud applause from the audience. During his lifetime, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov 1844-1908 was a composer whose work had great influence not only in his native Russia but also internationally. Rimsky-Korsakovs contributions to both Russian and general European music with oriental subjects are widely acknowledged by researchers and have been emulated by many Russian as well as Western European composers Glazunov, Stravinsky, Debussy, Ravel. His evaluation of his own music evoking the Orient, however, was far more critical and less enthusiastic. CD 3: Overture On Three Russian Themes - Symphony No. 3 - Skazka.
