Notes

Originally released in 1983.

Recorded at The Roundhouse, London, 18th January 1978.

Made In The EU.

Wilko Johnson organised a charity event on 18 January, 1978, at The Roundhouse in London, to raise money for the preservation of William Wordsworth manuscripts. Motörhead & Chiswick Records labelmates The Count Bishops, plus Wilko Johnson, were on the bill, but for contractual reasons Motörhead needed to perform under the name Iron Fist and the Hordes from Hell, part of which would later be used for the name of a studio album, Iron Fist. What I got was one of my favorite albums by Motorhead with slower, heavy, chest pounding rock and roll with a detectable blues influence. I think copied the record onto a cassette, time went on and that was it. Last week, I took a shot in the dark and typed in What's Wordsworth and it paid off. Outstanding live album showcasing their early stuff, this was their defining moment, the classic line up are tight and kicking ass, great booklet too telling the story behind the album that was nearly lost, worth every penny, buy it and enjoy.
