This is the promo video for Edward Ball's 'The Mill Hill Self Hate Club' from his 1997 'Catholic Guilt' album for Creation Records. Up the Hill and Down the Slope - Продолжительность: 4:16 Loft - Topic Recommended for the late 1970s, Edward Ball was one of the founding members of the Television Personalities. After he left the band in the early 1980s, he was frontman of several bands The Times, O Level, Teenage Filmstars, Love Corporation. In the mid 90s, he released his first solo album Catholic Guilt, including the tracks The Mill Hill Self Hate Club, Love is Blue and Trailblaze, which were also released as singles. He returned to Television Personalities for their latest albums My dark Places released 2006 and Are we near read more. A strong four-song EP, 1996's The Mill Hill Self Hate Club continues the pessimistic themes of the previous year's If a Man Ever Loved a Woman. The title track, goosed along by a surprisingly funky Motown-style horn section, is one of Ball's best, cleverly weaving north London place names and details into an anguished lost-love song that recalls mid-'80s Elvis Costello. The title track appeared on Ball's second solo album, Catholic Guilt, later in the year, but the other three tracks appear only on this EP, which is well worth searching out.
