I prefer the slightly older Gerald acid that you can buy much cheaper, but these 2 tracks are both still dope...sleazy, sexy vibes galore.
Don't get me wrong, 'Valentines Theme' is a fantastic Gerald tune, but it does sound somewhat similar Kevin "Master Reese" Saunderson's 'The Heavens'. Or perhaps that should be the other way around? Either way, both tracks were made towards the end of 1989, so the question beckons: Which came first? Who inspired who? Not that it really matters all that much (i'm just nit picking) as both tracks are excellent, and I love them equally, I'm just simply curious.
Do you even know the Kevin Saunderson track that I mentioned? Of course they sound quite similar! I'm talking about the arco strings in particular but there's also other similar elements too. Be sure to listen to all mixes of 'The Heavens' on Kool Kat Records to get a better idea. Either way, as I previously mentioned, I love them both.
What are you on about? Not hearing the similarities and this is by far cooler :)
